• Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my blog! I am so happy that you found your way to this little blog out in the sea of websites. I hope that you can sit and relax here and find out my passion for photography and people. I love so many things in this life: The Lord, my husband, family, anything creative, music, dancing, pizza, ice cream, guacamole, pretty dresses, watching The Bachelor & So you think you can dance, Sparkly shoes, Flower hair clips, getting dressed up for a date, big hair...the list goes on and on. If you follow this blog, you will be able to take a peek into my life and what I love about this awesome little blink of time on this planet. My talent is only from the Lord and I strive to honor Him with it every chance I get. He is why I am here and He has given me a passion: to see His world through a lens and capture everything that I can and love doing it as well!

Charity: Kansas City Senior Session

I was so excited to meet Charity! We had been emailing with each other and she seemed like such a bubbly sweet beautiful young woman with a heart for the Lord, and when we met, I was right! I had so much fun capturing this time in Charity’s life. She is a very sweet girl with a wonderful and contagious smile. Charity I wish you all the luck and prayers in this time in your life. Keep your eyes on the Lord and He will guide you in the way you should go! Thank you for such an amazing session! I loved every minute of it! I hope that you can enjoy looking back and remembering this important time in your life. Many Blessings to you! Much love!

Isn’t she SO beautiful? Charity I think your celebrity look a-lilke is Kristen Dunst!:)

DIY Painted Curtains + Living Room Update!

I have been wanting to get our living room done now since we got our bedroom pretty much decorated (see bedroom here). I thought in my head that I wanted some nice chevron curtains (since that’s all the rage now, and really, I’m just as obsessed with it as everyone else!). I thought that I wanted chevron curtains that went ALL the way to the top of our 2nd window. I got SO excited and ordered some peacock blue and white chevron curtains from fabric.com and couldn’t wait to get it on my front door step! When it finally arrived, I got it out,  draped the 10 yds of fabric over the rod, and…….hated it!:(The chevron design was WAY too busy for me, especially if I wanted it to go all the way to the ceiling!! Fortunately, fabric.com is nice and let’s you send fabric back. See….way too busy huh???

After that, I searched and searched for some cool modern curtains….slim pickings! But…never fear, Pinterest is here!!! haha, I got on there and started looking up painted curtains!!! I thought, “Sure I am going to try!!!” I went to Target, and bought two 95 in curtains from the RE brand for around $11!!!! Then I went to Home Depot and got the Peacock Blue paint, some fabric medium, and some tape!! I was ready! I saw some big chevron curtains (tutorial here) and fell in love and thought that I would try them! I started to draw out the design, and it turns out that making a chevron pattern is VERY HARD and mathematical! Luckily, I have a smart husband, and he helped me out! We taped and taped, then I was ready to paint! Since I chose sort of a darker color, it took me painting the color 4x until you couldn’t see through it, but it wasn’t that big of a deal, it’s just me. I’m the type of person that whenever I have something new and exciting in my head, I can’t hardly stand to start it! I jump in with both feet and then, if it takes longer than what I think it should, I start to get frustrated, but really, it only took maybe a total of 3 days total.:)We did this project in our unfinished basement and hung them from our windows down there to dry, which was perfect!!! SO, with out further adue, here are my painted curtains and what our living room looks like so far!!! YAY! I’m so happy, my home is finally starting to come together!!! I sort of want to try painting another set of curtains with a stencil for another room. What do you think?!?

After I apinted the front of the curtain, I saw that on the back edge, it didn’t bleed through…so onto painting the backs.
O boy…am I messy or what? Yikes!
Drum roll please…..HERE ARE MY CURTAINS!!! YAY!
There is my paint chip art!!! Took awhile, but I LOVE how colorful it is!!!
I was really nervous about the lines being crisp from the tape and not bleeding through….the tape did pretty good!!!:)
Our entry way! I bought this cardboard M at JoAnns and spray painted it with metal paint!!! LOVE IT!
I had these candle sticks in our previous place, and bought them from Hobby Lobby. Back when our decor was the light blue and brown, these candlesticks when perfect. BUT, I decided to paint them!:)
dNow….what to put on that ledge up there…..any ideas???
Here is what the curtains look like spread out…I honestly like them better pushed to the side.:)
Here is another Pinterest DIY project…I made this clock!!!
And…here is NIKON! He is almost 6 months old and is SO good! He wouldn’t hold still for a photo though…so I had to hold him.:)

I’m finally liking how all the decor is coming together, that sometimes can take awhile to get it the way you like it. Next I’m working on the eat in kitchen! I ordered a new rug from Urban Outfitters that I just can’t wait to get!!! Eek! :)
